How to Participate at SWC

Space enthusiasts will also be able to participate as visitors or press. Schools will be able to schedule class visits.







SWC Qualification

There will be open calls for registrations where all teams will be able to apply to participate in SWC.

Part of mission slots will be reserved for the best ranked teams at the Space Teams World Ranking and for teams selected by other competitions that become COBRUF partners.

Once registered, all projects must meet system, safety and operation requirements to operate, including those teams with reserved mission slots. A mission limit may be set, depending on the event's demand and operational capacity.

Registration Requirements

Team Members

All team members must be students or tutors. Student team members must be enrolled at an accredited educational institution or program - in any educational level - at the time of registration. All teams must register at least one engineer as a tutor. Teams can also register other tutors from any specialties.

Tutors

Tutors must guide the team students, review all team activities and be responsible for the registered project and all related operations. All tutors must formally represent at least one of the team's represented educational institutions or obtain a written letter from an official of that institution stating that the institution is being formally represented by the tutor in the competition.

Non-Brazilians

There are no restrictions upon international participation in SWC.

The entry of Non-Brazilians in Brazil federal space centers depends on authorization from the Brazilian Air Force and other external authorities. Thus, Non-Brazilians who wish to participate at in-loco activities in those locations will be required to acquire specific entry authorizations beforehand. In this case, COBRUF will provide a standard request form and forward the authorization requests to the authorities.

Participants Under 18 years old

All team members under 18 years old must obtain a written letter from its parents or legal responsible attesting they are fully aware of the risks involved and that the minor is authorized to participate in all SWC activities. The parents or legal responsible must delegate a teacher from the minor enrolled school as its responsible for all purposes in SWC activities.

The teacher must register as a tutor team member and accompany the minor in all activities. The authorization letter must be in the team's possession at all times and ready to be sent immediatly to SWC organization if and when requested.

Team members under 18 years old are not allowed to perform any risky activities without qualified adult supervision, where the adult is the responsible for all purposes.
