How to Participate at ISC

In order to be eligible for ISC, teams must keep their team information updated at the Space Teams World Ranking.

Prepare a System Proposal

At ISC initial stages, teams are expected to contribute with system ideas to meet mission requirements. These ideas will base joint reviews where all teams will compile and optimize the best concepts in overall design.

Team Systems Engineering Officer

TSEO

Responsible for team systems engineering in ISC.

Team Operations Officer

TOO

Responsible for safety and logistics of team fabrications, tests and operations in ISC.

Team Media Officer

TMO

Responsible for team media planning, integration and implementation in ISC.

Team Tutoring Officer

TTO

Responsible for supervising team activities and feedback ISC about students learning experience.

ISC officer roles are not related to the roles of each team member within their own internal team organizational structures.

ISC Qualification

There will be open calls for registrations where all teams will be able to apply to participate in ISC. Registration will require payment of a fee that varies according to each mission. All registration payments will contribute to project budget.

There will be no requirements of previous experience for participation in Entrance Mission or Payload Mission. To participate in Advanced Mission, teams must present evidence of relevant previous experience with the system they want to work with during the mission.

A limit may be set for the number of vehicles developed during ISC and the number of participants in each mission, depending on the cooperation demands and operational capacity. If necessary, slots for participation will prioritize teams best ranked at the STWR.

Registrations will start in early 2021.

Registration Requirements

Team Members

All team members must be students or tutors. Student team members must be enrolled at an accredited educational institution or program - in any education level - at the time of registration.

All teams must register at least one engineer as a tutor. Teams can also register other tutors from any specialties.

ISC Team Officers

All ISC officer positions, except Team Tutors, must be filled by student team members. Each team must register at least 1 team member for each position and all officer positions must be filled at all times during ISC participation.

Startup Advisors

Any formally constituted Startups can register advisors. By registration, advisors must lay down all the fields they are comfortable to advice at and their previous experience in those fields.

Non-Brazilians

There are no restrictions upon international participation in ISC.

The entry of Non-Brazilians in Brazil federal space centers depends on authorization from the Brazilian Air Force and other external authorities. Thus, Non-Brazilians who wish to participate at in-loco activities in those locations will be required to acquire specific entry authorizations beforehand. In this case, COBRUF will provide a standard request form and forward the authorization requests to the authorities.

Participants Under 18 years old

All team members under 18 years old must obtain a written letter from its parents or legal responsible attesting they are fully aware of the risks involved and that the minor is authorized to participate in all ISC activities. The parents or legal responsible must delegate a teacher from the minor enrolled school as its responsible for all purposes in ISC activities.

The teacher must register as a tutor team member and accompany the minor in all activities. The authorization letter must be in the team's possession at all times and ready to be sent immediately to ISC organization if and when requested.

Team members under 18 years old are not allowed to perform any risky activities without qualified adult supervision, where the adult is the responsible for all purposes.
